Unfortunately that type of USB to Parallel converter doesn't work. It isn't fast enough to translate the thousands of pulses a second the CNC controller requires. The only real viable solution for USB to Parallel is the Smooth Stepper: http://www.warp9td.com/

Its pretty expensive. You might be better off finding a cheap computer with a parallel port!

For the software, we recommend downloading the trial versions of: Mach3, MeshCAM, and Cut2D / Cut3D
