Parallel Port & Software

The machine I want to use doesn't have a parrallel port, will a usb port emulator like this work?:

Also what software is this going to come with? It'd be nice to get familiar with it.

Unfortunately that type of USB to Parallel converter doesn't work. It isn't fast enough to translate the thousands of pulses a second the CNC controller requires. The only real viable solution for USB to Parallel is the Smooth Stepper: http://www.warp9td.com/

Its pretty expensive. You might be better off finding a cheap computer with a parallel port!

For the software, we recommend downloading the trial versions of: Mach3, MeshCAM, and Cut2D / Cut3D

On the software, you posted that you were shipping the units with software. What happened to
This afternoon we were contacted by the producer of some excellent Commercial CAM Software. They would like to give everyone who pledges to the $1050 and $1600 levels a free licensed version their software!

We aren't allowed to discuss that at this time... but those links that were provided should at least allow you to give a few different software packages a try.
