Keep up to date with the latest changes here at A Quick CNC. This is also where we will post new developments and new machines!
#18
We reached our $10,000 goal last night! Thank you everyone so much for supporting this project. We hope that we can go much higher and get more pledges. If we run out of the $1050 rewards we will be putting up a new reward that includes the CNC with electronics, but without the router. Those who have supported us early on will get that router with their machine at essentially a huge discount!

A backer asked us yesterday if any options would be available for upgrading the machines. We have been working hard to finalize details and check out different methods of having parts manufactured but we do have some details.

It has been our goal from the start to have a machine that is modular and versatile. We are currently thinking of all the features that we could ever possibly want to have and incorporating them into our design now. We want any upgrades to be added on without any modifications being required. If you own one of our machines, the upgrades should be able to be added on no matter when you purchased it. Further down the line (after the Kickstarter project is over) we hope to make them available to our supporters.

Our current ideas include:

-Different material construction. Could be MDF standard with HDPE optional?
-Multiple table surfaces: MDF (Standard), MDF with Threaded Fasteners, T-Slot Laminate, T-Slot MDF, & Extruded Aluminum.
-Multiple Spindle Holders: Dremel 300 (Standard), Bosch Colt, Rotozip, HF Trim Router, & a DIY Plastic Extruder.
-Additional Machine and Table Supports from Extruded Aluminum.
-Vacuum Attachment Add-On
-Easy Limit Switch Installation (This will be very easy and not require any extra brackets, our electronics also support this!)
-Spring Loaded Anti-Backlash Nuts (Standard on Z-Axis, optional on other Axis')
-Aluminum Bearing Blocks (Our machine was designed around aluminum bearing blocks on the X-Axis, you can swap them out!)
-Cable Management System.

We are probably forgetting something, but that is most of the features we have planned and incorporated into our design. If you have any other ideas we would love to hear them! And what would a fully decked out machine look like? Check out the images below!
